Barry Lee Bishop, 54, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at his residence. The Columbus native was born June 12, 1956, the son of Frances Mart Wiseman and Emerson Wiseman of Pine Grove and the late Douglas Bishop. He is also survived by his wife, Rita Webb Bishop, whom he married Dec. 24, 1977.

Barry was a 1974 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a truck driver for Service Pump in Huntington, W.Va. He attended Symmes Valley Freewill Baptist Church in Pedro.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Bishop; and his father-in-law, Harrison Webb.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Adam Bishop of Charleston, S.C. and four brothers, his twin, Larry Bishop of Ironton, Stephen Bishop and Marty Bishop, both of Kitts Hill, and Mark Bishop of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
