ASHLAND, Ky. – You can memorize the key characters, places, events and themes of the Old Testament in less than a day, according to Margaret Ruth, Evangelism Committee chairperson at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Ashland.

The church, which is following up on its very successful “Walk Thru the New Testament” it hosted last year, has scheduled a “Walk Thru the Old Testament” program for April 2 at the church.

“Have you ever said or heard someone else say that the Old Testament is confusing? said Ruth. “It’s hard for most to put all of the people and events of the entire Old Testament together. After all, it has 39 books, 929 chapters and 23,214 verses. With this seminar, participants will be delightfully caught up in a highly creative, interactive learning adventure that’s as fun as it is effective.”

Registration for the seminar is open to the public now. The cost per person is $20, if reserved prior to March 26, and includes a workbook and lunch. Late reservations will be taken until the day of the seminar, space permitting, for $25 per person. Reservations should be made by telephone to the church office (606) 324-5335 or in person. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. with a brief fellowship period and registration completion.

Ruth said the church’s Evangelism Department hopes that people who attended last year’s seminar will attend this one.

“It is just as fast-paced as last year’s and just as much fun. This is a great opportunity to learn in a friendly environment and to share with others who share our faith,” she said.

“Even if you didn’t attend last year’s seminar, this one will be a fun, learning experience.”
