Fletcher, Bradburn Division II All-Ohio

COLUMBUS — The South Point Lady Pointers one-two scoring punch went one-three.

Kayla Fletcher and Jalynn Bradburn have handled the bulk of South Point’s scoring for the past four years and they capped their careers by being named to the Associated Press All-Ohio basketball team

The 5-foot Fletcher was named to the first team while the 5-9 Bradburn was a third team selection.

Both scored more than 1,000 points in their careers and have been four-year starters. The were first team district picks and they helped the Lady Pointers to four straight Ohio Valley Conference championships.

Fletcher averaged 16.4 points and was the spark plug on both ends of the floor. She averaged 4.0 assists and 5.0 steals this season.

A third team All-Ohio pick last year, Fletcher was the Southeast District Player of the Year this season.

An All-Ohio honorable mention selection last year, Bradburn was the Lady Pointers’ top outside scoring threat as she averaged 19 points a game and 4.0 rebounds.

The AP named Nikki McKee of Cincinnati Wyoming and Chelsie Butler of Minerva as the Division II co-Players of the Year.

The top coaches were Dan Linscott of Cambridge and Rod Hersha of Napoleon.

In Division I, Ameryst Alston of Canton McKinley was the Player of the Year.

Three coaches shared the top state honor that included Jack Purtell of Reynoldsburg, Jill Phillips of Cincinnati Princeton and Pam Davis of Canton McKinley.

Selections are made based on recommendations by sports writers and broadcasters from the state of Ohio.w
