Sheriff’s office investigating shooting
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left three people with minor injuries over the weekend.
Officers responded to a domestic incident in Willow Wood around 10:50 p.m. Friday. Sheriff Jeff Lawless said officers were met by three people who were involved in an altercation with another man at a residence. As the three were attempting to leave the house, the man allegedly fired a muzzleloader into the vehicle they were in. The shot shattered the windshield but did not hit any of the people, the sheriff said.
The three were treated for cuts by the Lawrence County EMS and transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for their injuries.
Among the three victims were a woman who lives at the house and a man and a child who were visiting from Columbus. No names have been released.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Lawless said.
