Donna Rose Harmon “Nan,” 74, of Ironton, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 17, 1936, the daughter of the late Golden “Frog” and Hazel Ferguson Thacker.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wibbie Harmon. Mrs. Harmon attended Dawson-Bryant High School and was a homemaker. She attended Centenary United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Aaron Schwab; and three sisters, Patricia Stone, Wilma Pennington, and Carol Smith. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bob Waddle of Coal Grove;

a son, Van Harmon of Coal Grove; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Joann and Jim Kinny of Ironton, Sue and Steve Galbreath of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Dale and Tom McFarland of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Vanessa Dixon, Jeremy Schwab, and Bobby Waddle all of Coal Grove, and James Schwab of Chesapeake; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery and visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
