Construction begins at St. Mary’s medical campus in Ironton

IRONTON — St. Mary’s Medical Campus Ironton took another major step forward as the general contractor for construction moved on-site to start construction of the multi-million dollar medical campus with a 24/7 emergency department.

The general contractor for construction is R. W. Setterlin of Columbus. The entire project is expected to be complete and open in the Spring of 2012.

The Ironton-Lawrence County CAO and St. Mary’s Medical Center are partnering to build the campus with help from the Lawrence County Commission, the LEDC and the Lawrence County Port Authority.

The CAO and St. Mary’s recently gave the Lawrence County Commission a $2 million check that serves as a repayment for the loan used to secure property for the project.
