An Ironton man was in stable condition at a local hospital as of Monday afternoon following an assault at his home.
The man, who is in his 20s, told Ironton Police that someone came to the door of his house in the 600 block of Mill Street at around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, according to Ironton Police Chief Jim Carey.
“He answered the door and they began assaulting him,” Carey said.
Carey said the man was transported to the hospital. The chief declined to give the victim’s name or the name of the hospital.
Right now there is no one in custody for the assault.
“We haven’t had a chance to interview him thoroughly,” Carey said. “No one was present when it occurred.”
