KITTS HILL — Rachel Charlotte Willis Jenkins, 98, of Kitts Hill, passed away at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky. on April 11, 2011. She was born on November 6, 1912 to Sydney and Margaret Martin Willis of Aid. She graduated from Aid High School in 1930.

She was married to Wade E. Jenkins on Dec. 31, 1938, who preceded her in death on Aug.18, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rom Willis, Leslie Willis and Loren Willis; and two sisters: Nellie Blankenship and Margaret Weidrick. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Carl Morris of Ironton, and several nieces and nephews. She was the oldest member of Mamre Baptist Church of Kitts Hill where she served her Lord and Savior until her ill health.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with pastors Ryan McKee, John Paul Patterson, and Jeff Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today.
