AVON LAKE – Oliver Nathan Chafin, 70, of Avon Lake, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at a hospital in Lorain. He was born March 4, 1941, the son of the late Mose and Amanda Chafin. He was also preceded in death by a son, Wesley Nathan Chafin.

He is survived by one son, John Chafin of Avon Lake and three grandchildren: Jacob, Sam and Anna Chafin of Avon Lake. He also leaves behind a sister, Nancy (Ralph) Sadler-Estes of Ironton; three nieces, Deborah (James) Moore of Franklin Furnace, Kimberly (David) Reed of Ironton and Jamie Sadler of Rockingham, N.C., great nephews, Jason (Krista) Moore, J.D. Reed, Travis Reed, Oliver Holden Reed, Beckham James Waginger and Barrett Layne Waginger and great nieces, Tiffany Reed and Courtney (Josh) Waginger.

Busch Funeral Home of Avon Lake is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Sheffield Lake.
