The St. Joseph Flyers know how to get the most out of a little.

The Flyers had eight hits in a 20-1 romp and just three hits in an 8-0 win as they beat the Sciotoville East Tartans Monday in the completion of a suspended game and in a regularly scheduled game.

In the suspended game, all 14 players on the roster scored and the Flyers blew the game open with an 11-run fourth inning.

In the fourth inning, the Flyers used five hits, five walks and two hit batters. Grant Geswein and Payton Blair each had two-run singles to highlight the uprising.

T.J. Young got the win in relief as he struck out six, gave up two hits and did not walk a batter in 3.2 innings.

Blair was 2-3 at the plate.

Cody Blackburn worked three innings to get the win in the nightcap. He sturck out three, walked one and gave up three hits. Young finished up.

Blair again went 2-3 while Tanner Riley was 1-3 to account for the Flyers’ hitting.

St. Joseph (8-1) got a run in the first inning when Blair singled, stole second and third, and came home when Tanner Riley grounded out.

St. Joseph got two runs in the third inning.

Geswein reached on a catcher’s interference, Joseph Payton had a sacrifice bunt and Blair delivered an RBI single. Blair stole second, moved up on a ground out and scored on Riley’s base hit.

The Flyers put the game away with five runs in the fourth inning.

With two outs, Luke McGraw walked and Geswein was safe on another catcher interference. Blair walked to load the bases, Levi Hopkins and Payton were hit by pitches, and Riley was safe on an error as a run scored.

Justin Mahlmeister walked to force in the final run.

St. Joseph plays Ironton Tuesday.
