Harold Waddell

KINGMAN, Ariz. — Harold “Michael” Waddell, 60, of Kingman, formerly of Portsmouth, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix. The Portsmouth native was born Oct. 18, 1950. He is survived by mother and stepfather, Chester and Betty L. Dotson Waddell Rase of Wheelersburg and father, Hubert L. Waddell of Gahanna.

Mr. Waddell was a graduate of Portsmouth East High School and a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for several trucking companies and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by stepmother, Rovena Waddell; maternal grandparents, Edward Dotson and Mella Dotson Stone; and paternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Waddell.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by six sisters, Paula and Roy Roach of Ironton, Wilma and Dennis DeCamp of Wheelersburg, Susan and Brent Pettiford of Gahanna, June and Rich Book of Minford, Tommi Waddell of Gahanna and Gerri and David Summerville of Gahanna; and a brother, John Waddell of Mansfield.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Aid Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850.
