AID — The Symmes Valley Vikings had a grand time Wednesday.

The Vikings belted three grand slam home runs in a 29-7 spanking of the Beaver Eastern Eagles in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“We hit the ball well the whole game. We took out starters early and the young kids kept hitting,” said Vikings’ coach Chad Renfroe.

Jacob Patterson and Cody Myers hit grand slams in a 17-run first inning while Nathan Dockery homered with the bases juiced to account for all the runs in the third inning.

The Vikings (7-6, 5-2) banged out 23 hits en route to the win. Myers and Dockery were 3-5, Zack Runyon 3-3, Jacob Patterson, Jacob Eastham and Luke Taylor 2-2, Scott Dial and Alec Herrell 2-3, and Hunter Boggs 2-4.

The Vikings also had a mercy rule win on Tuesday as they beat the Chesapeake Panthers 11-0.

Myers pitched a two-hitter as he struck out six and didn’t walk a batter. He threw just 58 pitches.

The Vikings had 12 hits with Myers going 3-3 and Dockery had two doubles.

Taylor and Patterson doubled for a run in the first inning and the Vikings scored seven times in the second.

Alec Herrell singled, Evan Herrell was hit by a pitch and Jordan Fulford reached on an error for a run.

Myers was hit by a pitch, Dockery had and RBI double, Taylor was safe on an error as a run scored and Dillon Pelletier had a two-run double.

The Vikings had a three-run fifth inning to end the game.

Myers singled, Dockery doubled and Taylor was safe on an error for a run. Pelletier singled in a run and Alec Herrell hit into a fielder’s choice as the final run scored.
