Ironton girls’ basketball camp set for June 13-16

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ girls’ basketball camp for girls entering grades 3-9 this fall will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, June 13-16, at the Sports Center.

Fee is $20 and each camper receives a cold drink each day plus a T-shirt at the conclusion of the camp.

camp planned June 6-9

The Ironton Fighting Tigers’ boys’ basketball camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, June 6-9, at the Sports Center.

Fee is $20 and each camper receives a cold drink each day plus a T-shirt at the conclusion of the camp. The camp is open to boys entering grades 3 through 9 this fall.

Two gymnasiums and outdoor courts will be utilized.

Fairland girls’ basketball

camp planned June 6-9

The Fairland Lady Dragons girls’ basketball camp will be held from 8:30-to-11:30 a.m. June 6-9 at the high school.

The camp is for girls entering grades 1-8. Fee is $35 each or $60 for two girls in the same family.

Each camper receives a camp t-shirt. There will be additional prizes.

South Point basketball

camp planned June 1-3

The South Point Pointers boys and girls basketball camp will be held Wednesday through Friday, June 1-3, at the high school.

The camp is for youths entering grades 2-8. It will be held form 9 a.m. to noon. Fee is $30 per camper and $20 for each additional family member.

Each camper receives a t-shirt and pre-registration will help insure the proper size. Early registration ends May 27. Make checks payable to: South Point Athletic Boosters.

Lady Vikings plan girls’

basketball shootout

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings will host a girls’ basketball shootout Saturday, June 25, at the high school and elementary buildings.

The shootout begins at 9 a.m. and entry fee is $125 per team. The event will accept the first eight teams.

High school football

combine July 9

A high school football combine for high school players will be held on Saturday, July 9, at Ironton High School.

The combine is being offered to area schools in Lawrence and Scioto counties as well as Kentucky. The fee is just $25 by May 23 and $50 after that until June 1. There is no registration after the June 1 deadline.

Combine tests and drills used in NFL combines will include: measurements, 40-yard dash, broad jump, flexibility test, 3-cone drill, L-drill, vertical jump, power throw, and bench press.

Freshmen and sophomores will be tested beginning at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available to all grades at noon and include an informational speech by former Ohio State fullback Tyler Whaley. The juniors and seniors will begin testing at 1 p.m.
