WAVERLY — Melissa Ann Ross Spencer, 36, of Waverly, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011, at her residence. The Ironton native was born March 17, 1975, the daughter of Elbert “Abby” Ross of Ironton and Mary Ellen Malone Ross of Pedro. She was married to Robert Spencer of Beaver.

She was a 1993 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

She worked as a security escort for Innovative Solutions and attended River Valley Community Church in Waverly. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Norma Malone; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Chloe Ross; and brother, Eric R. Ross.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughters, Grace, Faith and Emma Spencer, all of Waverly; sister, Mary J. Ross Taylor of Waverly; brothers Kenneth and Rebecca Ross of Waterloo and Andrew Ross of Pedro; half brother, Ryan Ross of Ironton; and

grandfather, Kenneth A. Malone of Pedro.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Rock Massie and Pastor Mike Lawrie officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.
