James A. Hunter

COLUMBUS — James A. Hunter, of Columbus, passed away April 28, 2011, at the age of 84. Jim was an Air Force veteran during WWII and a crew chief on a B-25 bomber in WWII and Korean War. A graduate of Ironton High School class of 1944, he will be remembered by his many friends and classmates in Ironton. Jim was also a graduate of Marshall College and was employed for many years at Semet Solvay Co. He was a member of Mason Lodge. He was preceded in death by parents Dr. George G. Hunter and Henrietta Hunter, sister Joan Hunter, and brother George S. Hunter. He is survived by sister Marge Albrink, loving father to David and Mark Hunter, Marilyn Gaucher and Kathy (Mike) Maloney, loving grandfather to grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Melissa, Nicole, Renee, Sara and Samantha and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by loving and close friend Natalie Wentworth and many close friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mae and HomeReach Hospice for their excellent care. Services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rest Haven Cemetery, Cincinnati.
