An Ironton Police Officer was in involved in a minor car accident Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Jim Carey said Sgt. Pam Wagner backed her police cruiser into another vehicle on the parking lot of Peddler’s restaurant around 5 p.m.

“The officer was at fault,” Carey said. “(She was) not cited because we don’t cite anyone on private property unless there was alcohol or drugs involved.”

As a matter of procedure, Carey said Wagner was tested for drugs and alcohol. The alcohol test was negative. Results from the drug test take a few days, he said.

The police car sustained minor damages. There were no injuries.
