Four arrested in SP drug raid

Four men were arrested following a drug raid in South Point Thursday. The raid occurred at 6825 County Road 1, South Point.
Jose Tauras Burks, 36, of Burlington; Ronie Wayne Tucker, 40, of South Point and Ernest Moore, 44, of Detroit, Mich., were arrested on federal drug charges, according to a statement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The fourth man, Jerry Kent Brown, 42, of Huntington, W.Va., was arrested in Pike County early Saturday morning, according to WSAZ, and is being held in the Scioto County Jail.
Attempts to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Department were unsuccessful.
The raid was the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Organized Crime Drug Task Force, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, and officers of the Violent Crime/Drug Task Force.
The men were arrested as a result of criminal complaints filed before United States Magistrate Judge Cheryl A. Eifert charging them with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. They were lodged in the Western Regional Jail at Barboursville, W.Va., and appeared before the judge Friday afternoon.
The Task Force comprises officers from the Huntington and Barboursville Police Departments, the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department, the West Virginia State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Additional units from the HPD, officers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. 119 Drug Task Force, the United States Marshal Service as well as FBI special agents from the Charleston, W.Va., Huntington, W.Va., and Portsmouth resident agencies also supported Thursday’s operation.
