Martha Sites

Martha Ann Sites, 70, of Ironton passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at her residence. The Lawrence County native was born Sept. 1, 1940, the daughter of the late William and Daisy Brown Payton. She is survived by her husband, Roy Lee Sites, whom she married March 21, 1989.
Mrs. Sites was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth. She was a retired nurse after 30 years of service with River Valley Health System and was a co-owner of the Community Home Health Care. She was a member of the Lorain Street Gospel Mission and was the treasurer for the Lady’s Prayer Circle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Corbin; and two brothers, Emery Payton and Bobby Payton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cathy Bowman of Florence, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Stephen Young of Ironton; son, David Bowman of Columbus; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Angie Bowman of Ironton; a brother, Billy and Sally Payton of Kitts Hill; six sisters, Barbara and Orlyn Depriest of Columbus, Marlene and Jack Pemberton of Ironton, Gertie and Ralph Ackison of Kokomo, Ind., Donna and David Knipp of Kitts Hill, Beverly Payton of Ironton, and Floye and Sam Cooke of Kitts Hill; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Waggoner and her husband T.J. of Ashland, Ky., Christina Bowman of Botkins, Garrett Hudson-Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Caitlin Hudson-Bowman of Florence, Ky., Ryan Young and his wife, Candice of South Point, Maggie Chaffin and her husband, Chris of Kitts Hill, Payton Bowman of Columbus and Josh Corbin and his wife, Sarah of Pedro; and 10 great grandchildren.
