Brenda Kay Ratliff, 48, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W. Va. The Grundy, Va., native was born Feb. 20, 1963, the daughter of Shirlene and Phyllis Luster Newcomb of Ironton.

Brenda was a 1980 graduate of Rock Hill High School, was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Newcomb.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her companion of 11 years, Steve Combs of Ironton; two sons, Franklin Ratliff and J.D. Ratliff, both of Ironton; three grandchildren, Gracie Ratliff, Isaiah Ratliff, and Franklin Keith Ratliff; four brothers, Danny Newcomb, Jerry Newcomb, Gary Newcomb and Roger Newcomb, all of Ironton; three sisters, Eileen Newcomb, Cindy Sizemore, and Regina Newcomb, all of Ironton; her former husband, Frank Ratliff of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews.
