Visitors appreciate Ironton’s image overhaul

Last week I drove up the river from Wheelersburg to visit Ironton’s Splash Park with my grandchildren.
It was a very enjoyable experience for all of us, being fun, clean, attractive, well kept and free. All the kids who were enjoying it with us were polite and especially helpful to smaller children.
We also noticed the beautiful flowers everywhere, and the pride that is evident in the attractively landscaped and well-kept homes and businesses.
I was sitting in the sun thinking how lucky Ironton is to have such a nice place for kids to play, such a pretty town, and it struck me that luck has nothing to do with it.
It is clear that many people have put a great deal of thought, time and effort into making sure Ironton puts its best face forward for visitors and residents alike, and I want them to know that visitors notice and appreciate what they have done.
