Cecil Bare

SOUTH POINT — Cecil G. Bare, 84, of South Point, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from his home.

Cecil was born May 15, 1927, in Gilmore, Idaho, a son of the late Sydney and Minnie Crept Bare. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Mart Bare.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was retired from Allied Chemical and Ashland Oil and loved to play golf at Sandy Creek Golf Gourse.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Adkins Bare; one daughter, Valerie (Tom) Leighty of Hilton Head, S.C.; one son, Larry (Sherry) Bare of Pedro; two brothers, Fields Bare of Ironton, and Edward Bare of Ashland, Ohio; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Kit Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington for their care and concern.
