Richard “Todd” Chatfield

COLUMBUS — Richard “Todd” Chatfield, 40, of Columbus and formerly of Ironton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, following a recent injury.

Todd was born Dec. 12, 1970, the son of the late Bonnie Loper Chatfield.

Todd attended Ironton City Schools and moved to the Columbus area in 1991. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He is remembered by friends and relatives as a benevolent person, particularly to children.

Todd is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shari and Steve Wells of Ashland, Ky.; and Melissa and Jim Shope of Hanging Rock; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry “Butch” and Cindy Chatfield of Johnstown; seven nieces and nephews, Jeremy Wells, Mandy King, Stephanie Stevens, Travis Shope, Alex Shope, Courtney Chatfield, and Jonny Chatfield; and many great friends in Ironton and Columbus.

Since Todd was an organ donor, his family takes solace in the fact that he will live on in the lives of those who will benefit from his decision to leave vital parts of himself behind.
