OAK HILL — Leroy Dean Davis, 59, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully at his home Monday morning Aug. 22, 2011.

Lee was born Jan. 4, 1952, to the late Hayden Leroy Davis and Wilma Christian Davis Hughes.

Leroy left for the Air Force in September 1970 where he held the rank of staff sergeant. He worked as a dispatcher for PI&I ( formerly Grant) Trucking and also managed the Oak Hill Terminal for several years. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Oak Hill. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Jackson and a former president of the Franklin Valley Golf Club. Recently, Lee was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Lee is survived by son, Brad (Rachel) Davis; two grandchildren, Brenna and Mason; fiancée, Loretta Kelly and her loving family; brothers, David (Karen) Davis, Douglas (Andrea) Davis, Darin (Colleen) Davis and sisters, Deanne Davis and Debra (Danny) Ramey; along with 12 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by one sister, Denise Carter.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Warnaka Cemetery with Pastor John Kelly officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans of Jackson. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home.
