Mary Ruth McClure of South Point, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2011, at River’s Bend Health Care Center.

She was born in South Point, a daughter of the late Carl and Shirley Moore McClure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd McClure, Julian McClure and Lee McClure; and a nephew, Carl McClure.

Mary retired from Children’s Services in Columbus after many years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Point and had formerly attended Lane Avenue Baptist Church in Columbus.

Survivors include two sisters, Edith Freeman and Helen McClure, both of South Point; a brother, Marlin McClure of South Point; a sister-in-law, Jean McClure of Charlotte, N.C.; and nieces, JoAnn Sinclair of Columbus and Karen Trampler and Sandra Clark, both of Charlotte.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel by pastor Lou Ashworth. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.steenfuneralhome.com.
