COAL GROVE — Judith Jones, 72, of Coal Grove, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Coal Grove native was born Jan. 29, 1939, a daughter to the late George and Gladys (Norris) Gannon.  Judith was also preceded in death by husband of 41 years, Eugene Jones.

Mrs. Jones was a 1956 graduate of Coal Grove High School and was valedictorian of her class.  She was a member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church of Coal Grove.  She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Red Hat Society and ladies’ fellowship of Memorial Methodist Church.

Judith is survived by a son, John and Janet (Walker) Jones of Coal Grove and two grandchildren, Jacy Lynn and Jeb Jones also of Coal Grove.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Jenkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
