Coal Grove has rolled through two conference games and is looking to make it a third straight.

The Hornets need to win to not only keep pace for the OVC title but their playoff hopes as well. The Hornets are hoping the state rules their game with Trimble will be played on Monday.

Quarterback Alex Bare is a duel threat. He has 209 yards rushing and four touchdowns while hitting 15 of 35 passes for 387 yards and two scores.

Greg Bender leads the team in rushing with 560 yards on 64 carries and six touchdowns. Bryan Steele had eight receptions for 211 yards and three scores.

River Valley has struggled offensively in conferences loss to Fairland and Chesapeake. The Raiders have just 21 points in league games.

South Point (1-6, 0-2) at Rock Hill (1-6, 0-2)

These two teams will be wondering if they will have enough players to finish the game.

Rock Hill finished last week with 23 healthy players while the Pointers had just 21 capable of playing.

Rock Hill has been getting a boost in its running game from Jared Bruce, but his running mate Jesse Lane suffered an injury in last week’s loss to Coal Grove.

South Point’s offense has been mainly Tre Campbell who has 477 yards on 71 carries and three TDs. R.J. McCarthy is next with 165 yards on 37 carries.

Symmes Valley (6-1, 2-0) at Oak Hill (1-6, 1-1)

The Vikings have lost the last two meetings against the Oaks and each time it cost them the Southern Ohio Conference Division I title.

Symmes Valley’s running game may be too much for the Oaks’ defense this time. Alec Herrell has 72 carries for 760 yards and six touchdowns, D.J. Miller 58 tries for 493 yards and nine TDs, and quarterback Cody Myers 372 yards on 63 tries.

Myers is also 13 of 32 passing for 226 yards and two scores. Seven different players have catches.

Oaks’ quarterback Drew Haislop set a school record with six TD passes in a win over East.
