ATHENS (AP) — Steven Schott kicked a 27-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and Ball State held off Ohio for a 23-20 win on Saturday.

Following Schott’s game-winner, Ohio’s Tyler Tettleton threw his second interception of the day, to Joshua Howard, preventing a Bobcats drive.

Ohio, however, managed a drive late in the game to set up a 41-yard field goal chance by Matt Weller. Weller missed the kick wide left with 36 seconds left to end the Bobcats’ streak of seven straight home wins.

Schott also made field goals of 38 and 25 yards, the second coming as time expired in the first half for a 13-7 Ball State (4-3, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) lead.

Ohio (4-3, 1-2) tied it at 20 on Tettleton’s 74-yard TD pass to LaVon Brazill with 5:08 left in the third quarter.

Tettleton had two touchdowns, 246 yards and two interceptions on 18-of-30 passing.
