Boil water advisory issued for Indian Hills area

IRONTON — A boil water advisory remains in effect for the Indians Hills area near the intersection of State Route 141 and U.S. 52, as of press time Monday.

The advisory was issued on Saturday after a pump station went down. Officials were hoping to be able to lift the advisory late Monday.

IFD schedules Fire Prevention Month activities

IRONTON — October is National Fire Prevention Month.

In observance, the Ironton Fire Department has scheduled several events aimed at fire safety and education.

Firefighters will visit the following locations:

Oct. 17 — Central Christian Day Care at 10 a.m.

Oct. 18 — Briggs Public Library Story Time, 2-3 year olds at 11 a.m.

Oct. 24 — CAO Head Start at 10 a.m.

Oct. 25 — Briggs Public Library-Home Schooled Group (k-4th grade) at 2 p.m.
