WILLOW WOOD — Things didn’t start well for the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings and they didn’t get any better.

The Lady Vikings fell behind early and never recovered as they lost 60-27 to the Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“We let Clay dictate the pace and impose their will on us. That’s not what we’re all about,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Brandon Walker.

Katie Redding had 12 points, Jordan Jenkins 10 points and Madison Whitley 9 to lead a balance Clay offense.

Gracie Waddell had 8 points and Kalli Hunt 7 points to lead the Lady Vikings (1-1, 1-1).

The Lady Panthers jumped in front 18-4 in the first quarter and they extended the lead to 34-13 at the half.

Symmes Valley plays at Green on Monday in an SOC game.
