JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Phillip Rivers threw touchdown passes on three consecutive drives at the end of the first half and start of the third quarter to give the San Diego Chargers a 31-14 lead Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Chargers (4-7) were poised to end a six-game losing streak, their longest in eight years. Rivers was 22 of 28 for 294 yards, and his three touchdown passes were all down the field and right on the money.

It helped that he was throwing against a depleted secondary, with the TD passes given up by a pair of cornerbacks who were not on the Jaguars’ active roster at the start of the year.
