Lady Panthers romp past Rose Hill, 75-27

COAL GROVE — This one was over almost before it began.

The Chesapeake Lady Panthers jumped out to a 20-8 lead and never looked back as they rolled past the Rose Hill Christian Lady Royals 75-27 on Saturday in the first annual Coal Grove “River Battle.”

Amanda Ruffner had 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the Lady Panthers. Jordan Porter had 16 points and 10 rebounds while Sidnee Hall added 11 points and Taylor Martin had 4 assists.

Myriah Porter led Rose Hill (0-5) with 17 points.

Hall had 4 points in the first quarter as Chesapeake (3-2) opened up its 20-8 lead.

Porter had 6 points in the second quarter as the lead ballooned to 39-16 at the half.

Ruffner scored 8 points in the third quarter as Chesapeake extended the lead to 56-20.

The Lady Panthers play at South Point on Thursday in a key Ohio Valley Conference game.
