PEDRO — Once the Rock Hill Redmen got going, they didn’t stop.
The Redmen turned a tie game into a rout as they beat the Lakeside Christian Falcons 66-43 on Friday.
“We didn’t come out and play well and they did. We played with no urgency on defense and we were sluggish on offense,” said coach Wilds.
“We finally got going in the third quarter. The young guys like Austin Collins, Laden Delawder and Evan Morris did a nice job. Jared Bruce played well, too.”
Will McCollister led Rock Hill (2-1) with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Trey Wilds had 15 points, 8 assists and 3 steals, Andy Knipp had 10 points and 6 rebounds while Delawder scored 11 points.
Dalton Collett scored 17 for Lakeside (2-4).
Knipp had 6 points and McCollister 5 as Rock Hill went up 15-11 in the first quarter. Collett had 8 of the Falcons’ total.
Trey Wilds and Bruce scored 4 each in the second quarter as the lead went to 30-22 at the half.
Phillip Bradley scored 7 points and Ryan Holeman had 4 of his 10 in the third quarter to draw the Falcons even at 36-36 midway through the quarter.
But Trey Wilds scored 9 points and McCollister 5 as Rock Hill pulled away in the final two minutes of the quarter to lead 49-36.
