Brass band shimmers

The Lincoln Brass Quintet performed Monday night with the Ohio University Southern Community Band in OUS ‘s Riffe Center Mains Rotunda.

The quintet features Keith Carper and Jeffrey Flanagan playing trumpet, Jonathan Bradley on the horn, John Galloway playing trombone and Buddy Madden on the tuba.

The Lincoln Brass Quintet has been in existence for more than 30 years and regularly presents children’s concerts as an outreach of the Huntington Symphony Orchestra as well as a host of other local performances.

OUS’s community band is comprised of OUS and local high school students as well as community members who play a variety of instruments. The band was founded in 1998 by Dr. Pat McCoy, who teaches fine arts at OUS.
