Hornets rip Royals

ASHLAND, Ky. — The Coal Grove Hornets placed three players in double figures en route to a 69-46 win over the Rose Hill Christian Royals on Tuesday.

Bryan Steele scored as career-high 22 points to lead the Hornets (7-2). Alex Bare had 16 points and Conor Markins added 12.

Andrew Wilhoit scored 23 and Troy Stafford 18 for the Royals (0-11).

Coal Grove took a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and stretched the margin to 31-19 at the half.

The Hornets outscored the Royals 17-10 in the third quarter and the lead was 48-29.

Coal Grove hosts River Valley on Friday.
