Branch shines at OSU Classic

COLUMBUS — It was a classic effort at the Classic.
The Ohio State Buckeyes held their annual 14-event Buckeye Classic indoor track and field meet last Friday inside the French Field House.
Ohio State red-shirt senior and former Coal Grove Hornets’ standout Tyler Branch had an excellent throw of 18.62 meters (61-feet, one and a quarter inches) in the weight throw to finish third behind teammates Max Mays (20.4m) and Billy Gehring (18.84m).
Branch was the Ohio Division III state shot put champion in 2007 for the Hornets.
Ohio State won the Classic with a clean sweep of all the events.
