Irma Dilley
Irma Charlotte Dilley, 89, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at a local health care center.
The Lawrence County native was born March 21, 1922, the daughter of the late Guy and Stella Baker Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Dilley, who passed away July 21, 2007.
Irma was a 1939 graduate of Windsor High School and attended Wiseman Business School. She was a former cashier for the First National Bank for 27 years and a member of the Perkins Ridge Baptist Church in Willow Wood. She was a member of Windsor Grange since Jan. 19, 1936, and lived all her life in Lawrence County.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Thompson and Robert Thompson.
She is survived by a niece, Connie and Johnnie Freeman of Proctorville; a great nephew, David Heath Freeman of Proctorville; four sisters-in-law, Louella Pinson, Enola Cade, Nina Fugett all of Kitts Hill, and Wilma Thompson of Mansfield and13 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Timothy Burge officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Heath Freeman, George Telesz, Dan Fulks, Gary Cade, Elmer Fugett and Keith Skaggs. Clayton Wagner
Clayton E. Wagner, 81, of Ironton, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at his residence.
The Nitro, W. Va., native was born July 2, 1930, the son of the late Oscar and Kathleen Carrier Wagner. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Matney Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was a graduate of Pedro High School and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service, having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Wagner and Oscar Wagner Jr., and a sister: Francis McFann.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton E. II and Adelene Wagner of Ironton, Charles J. and Jeanne Wagner of Huntington, W.Va., Clinton A. and Kristi Wagner of Marion, Iowa, Phillip D. and Christy Wagner, Christopher J. and Marsha Wagner all of Kitts Hill, and Patrick D. and Kathy Wagner of Springfield, Ohio; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra K. Wagner Davis of Saranac, N.Y., Susan G. Wagner Hall and Michael of South Shore, Ky., and Kimberly D. Wagner Phillips and Wendell of Portsmouth; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Glenna Price of Ironton and Mary Ann and John Stewart of Port Orange, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Wagner of Ironton; 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

John A. Runyon, 87, formerly of Ironton died on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, in Ashland , Ky.

SOUTH POINT — Evelyn C. Whaley, of South Point, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with the Rev. Charles Layne officiating.
