PORTSMOUTH — Half the game wasn’t enough.
The defense was there but the offense wasn’t as the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings fell to the Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers 52-30 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
“We gave a good effort. We played hard on defense. We just struggled to score. That’s been a problem all year,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Brandon Walker.
“We’ll just work and try to get better. Clay is a good team. They’re really quick.”
Kalli Hunt had 10 points to lead the Lady Vikings (5-7, 5-4).
Shannon Curley scored 16 points, Katie Redding 12 and Emily Spriggs 10 for Clay (7-4, 7-2).
The Lady Panthers led 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and 20-8 at the half. Clay pulled away to a 33-18 lead after three quarters.
