St. Joseph Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller couldn’t find any fault in his team’s effort.

Despite a 49-24 loss to the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans, Miller wasn’t totally disappointed.

“We played our tails off the first half. We were playing really good defense and making some shots,” said Miller. “The second half the defense was okay, but we couldn’t score and if you can’t convert, it has an effect on you mentally.”

St. Joseph (5-9) tailed by just five points at the half, but they couldn’t sustain their play against the talent Lady Titans (13-2).

“(Notre Dame is) a good team and they have good balance,” said coach Miller.

Jen Arnzen scored 11 points as lead the Titans who had nine different players score.

Hannah Miller scored 11 points and Haley Bartram 9 to lead St. Joseph.

“Haley Bartram had nine points and four steals and had a nice floor game. She did a nice job,” said coach Miller.

Arnzen had 5 points in the first quarter to give the Lady Titans an 11-7 lead.

Hannah Miller scored 5 and Bartram hit a 3-pointer as St. Joseph got within 22-17 at the half.

But the Female Flyers couldn’t score in the third quarter and Notre Dame pulled away to a 35-17 lead.
