Female Flyers shoot way by Lady Royals

ASHLAND, Ky. — Hit me with your best shot.

The St. Joseph Female Flyers enjoyed their best shooting night of the season as they beat the Rose Hill Lady Royals 59-38 on Thursday.

“We played well and we shot the ball well,” said St. Joseph coach Nick Miller. “We’re getting better overall. Katie Roach is really coming on and Haley Bartram is starting to knock down shots. Really, all the girls are starting to play better.”

Hannah Miller led the Female Flyers with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in three quarters of play.

Amber Neal had 12 points and 6 rebounds, Sarah Neal grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked 2 shots, and Bartram also had 4 assists along with her two 3-pointers.

Alana Martin scored 12 points and Myriah Porter 10 for Rose Hill (1-15).

Hannah Miller scored 6 points in the first quarter as St. Joseph went in front 13-8.

Miller scored 7 more points and Amber Neal 6 in the second quarter as the Female Flyers scored a season-high 20 points in one quarter and built a 33-16 cushion at the break.

St. Joseph hosts New Boston on Monday. There will be a two-quarter jayvee game at 6 p.m.
