Junior Flyers cruise
past Junior Wildcats
The St. Joseph Junior Flyers beat the Hannan (W.Va.) Junior Wildcats 44-12 on Thursday.
Trey Neal had 10 poitns, Blake Ballestra 9 and Brad Rist 7 to lead the Flyers.
Also scoring were Zach McGraw with 6, Nick Ward and Tim Dickess 4 each, and Isaac Walker and Judge Williams 2 apiece.
The Flyers play at 7 p.m. Friday in the Catholic Tournament at Our Lady of Fatima in Huntington, W.Va.
South Point 8th grade
avenges two losses
SOUTH POINT — The South Point Junior Pointers 8th grade avenged earlier losses to Chesapeake and River Valley this week.
The Pointers downed Chesapeake 47-39 as Chris Woodard scored 16 points, D’AngeloPallodino 12, Ryan Khounlavong 8 and Phil Kratzenberg 9 — all from the foul line including 8 of 9 in the fourth quarter.
Austin Hutchinson and Brad Meadows scored 10 points each to pace the Panthers.
Chesapeake is 9-1 in the OVCMS and has clinched first place. South Point finished 8-2 to place second.
The Junior Pointers then beat the Junior Raiders 43-28 as Kratzenberg scored 12 and Stephen Wagoner 10.
Kirk Morrow had 11 for River Valley.
