Helen Waddle
Helen (Scott) Waddle, 66, of Marion, formerly of Ironton, passed away, after her battle with cancer, on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at the Kindred Hospital in Mansfield.
Helen was born in Logan County, W.Va., on Dec. 3, 1945. She was the daughter of Everett and Zina (Dingess) Scott. The family moved to Ironton, which became her home for many years.
Helen spent time working at Abbot’s Factory, Goodwill Industries and most recently for the Marion Star Newspaper.
Helen had the gift of a generous heart. She had a passion that burned for underprivileged children who needed love and a home. She was a mother to all and anyone who needed one. She was a giver and an inspiration and she will not be soon forgotten.
Helen is survived by her niece/adopted daughter, Rhonda Lynn (Scott) (T.J.) Price; her brother, the youngest of 12 whom she raised like a son, Anthony Ray Scott; her grandsons, Tommy III and James “Jet” Edward Price; siblings, Connie (John Boggs) Smith, Marvin (Ruth) Scott, Delbert Scott and Randolph (Roxanne) Scott; Tommy Waddle, the father of her late daughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Teresa K. Waddle and siblings, Ersa Marie Bloomfield, Everett Scott, Jr., Paul Lee Scott, John Edward Scott, Rose D. Wisebaker and Vincent Edward Scott and her longtime companion James Collins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion, from noon to 1 p.m. Memorial services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Dr. Glen Wheeler officiating.

Dallas Joseph
Dallas E. Joseph, 67, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born July 1, 1944, the son of the late Willard Eugene and Bertha Mae Rowe Joseph.
Mr. Joseph attended Rock Hill High School and was a former laborer at the Commercial Coal in Coal Grove. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Lauren Joseph, Willard Joseph, Millard Joseph, Clifford Joseph, James Lowell Joseph and Ronald Lee Joseph; and five sisters, Lillian Joseph, Dorothy Beasley, Edna Cosner, Myrtie Griffith and Helen Bowman.
He is survived by a sister, Priscilla Vance of South Point; special niece and caregiver, Patty Schwab of Ironton; and numerous nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Etna Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
Betty Stevens
PROCTORVILLE — Betty Lou Stevens, 72, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Mary Eaton
PROCTORVILLE — Mary L. Eaton, 83, of Proctorville, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wheelersburg. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Carl Fulks
CHESAPEAKE — Carl Jackson Fulks, 84, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Jo-Lin Health Center. He was the husband of Joyce Fulks, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
