Arnzen, PND top Redwomen

PEDRO — It was just too much Jen Arnzen.

Arnzen scored 28 points to lead the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans to a 55-39 win over the Rock Hill Redwomen on Monday.

“Arnzen a big girl inside and she’s hard to defend. She’s really strong,” said Rock Hill coach Alvin Carpenter.

Raigan Sammons added 11points for the Lady Titans (16-3).

Katie Johnson had 13 points for Rock Hill (6-13). Chelsea Harper had 8 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Brook Knipp had 6 points in the first quarter and Rock Hill trailed just 14-12.

But Arnzen scored 9 points in the second quarter as Notre Dame pulled away to a 30-20 halftime lead.

Johnson had 7 points in the third quarter to get Rock Hill within 39-33, but Arnzen scored 7 points including 5 of 7 at the foul line as the Lady Titans extended their lead in the fourth quarter.

Rock Hill had trouble from the field. The Redwomen was just 17 of 53 for 32 percent and they failed to connect on any of their 11 3-point goal attempts.
