PEDRO — When you’re hot, you’re hot, and when you’re not, you’re not.
Kent Gullion hit a school record 10 3-point goals as the Minford Falcons beat the cold-shooting Rock Hill Redmen 55-28 on Tuesday.
Rock Hill came into the game shooting 44 percent as a team but made only 11 of 40 shots for 27.5 percent. The Redmen were just 5 of 12 at the line and were 10 of 31 from inside the paint.
“We held (Jared) McCoy to one field goal and (Austin) McBee to two fields and then their freshman just got hot,” said Rock Hill coach Bob Wilds. “We missed 15 layups. We just didn’t finish.”
Gullion finished with 32 points.
Andy Knipp scored 17 for the Redmen (8-10). Jared Bruce and Knipp had 4 rebounds each.
Gullion scored all 12 of Minford’s points in the first quarter and it was 12-6. He had 6 more in the second quarter to make it 24-14 at the half.
Knipp scored all of Rock Hill’s points in the first half.
Gulloin had 8 points in the third quarter while Evan Morris scored 4 of Rock Hill’s 6 points and it was 41-20.
The Redmen play at Fairland on Friday.
