WILLOW WOOD — A lack of emotion led to a lack of offense for the Symmes Valley Vikings.

Coming off an emotional win on Saturday, the Vikings struggled to generate some offense in a 57-53 loss to the Sciotoville East Tartans on Tuesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“We came out flat and we can’t do that. We’re not a strong offensive team so we have to play hard,” said Vikings’ coach Jerome Fuller.

Tyler Rowe had 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals to lead the Vikings (7-11, 6-6). D.J. Miller added 11 points, 6 assists and 3 steals.

Tyler Bradford scored 22 points including 12 of 17 at the foul line to lead East (8-10). Patrick Bias scored 15.

East took a 14-8 lead in the first quarter. Bias scored 8 points in the second quarter as the Tartans extended the lead to 33-23 at the half. Austin Baldwin scored 7 points in the second quarter for the Vikings.

Miller scored 7 points in the third quarter as Symmes Valley cut the deficit to 47-41.

Rowe had 8 points in the fourth quarter but Bradford hit 6 of 10 free throws to seal the win.

The Vikings play at Portsmouth Notre Dame on Friday and host Western on Saturday.
