CHILLICOTHE — The South Point Lady Pointers put together a strong fourth quarter comeback, but they were unable to continue the momentum as they lost a 36-33 heartbreaker in overtime to the Washington Court House Lady Blue Lions on Saturday in the Division II district semifinals.

South Point trailed 22-16 after three quarter before outscoring Court House 11-5 in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 27-27.

Brett Justice hit a 15-footer with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game for South Point.

The Lady Lions then outscored the Lady Pointers 9-6 in the fourth quarter.

“They got the lead on us early and held the ball,” said Lady Pointers’ coach Dave Adams. “There were a lot of little things. We missed some foul shots, we didn’t rebound well the first quarter and we didn’t hit our shots early and let them get the lead and then hold it. They were real patient.”

Allison Mitchell had 12 points and Justice 8 to lead the Lady Pointers (16-6). Erin Dillow, Mitchell and Justice all fouled out early in the overtime.

“We started getting in foul trouble in the third quarter and they kept the pace slow,” said Adams.

The loss marked the final game for seniors Eryn Khounlavong, Dillow and Mitchell.

“Dillow, Mitchell, Khoulavong all had a great four years,” said Adams.
