Ironton district tourney

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Ironton Div. III district semifinal game will be sold during school hours in the high school auto tech shop and during business hours at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

Tickets are $6 and will be sold until 2 p.m. on Monday. Ironton receives only 25 percent of the presale. All money at the gate goes to the OHSAA.

Ironton plays Wellston at 5 p.m. Monday at Ohio University’s Convocation center.

 

 

 

Ironton Little League

schedules registration

The Ironton Little League will conduct registrations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

All players — boys and girls — ages 4 to 16 may register at this time.

Anyone interested in being managers or coaches this season should apply at this time.

 

 

 

South Point Little League

sets registration dates

The South Point Little League will conduct registrations from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Casa Grande, Thursday at Giovanni’s Pizza, and Tuesday, March 6, at Antonio’s Pizza.

Tryouts from girls ages 7-12 will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, at the old high school gym and trouts for boys ages 7-12 will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at the old high school gym. Additional sign-ups will be held at tryouts.

 

 

SPHS powerlifting team

sponsors fundraiser

The South Point High School powerlifting team is conducting a fundraiser to help finance the trip to the state lifting meet March 10 in Kenton.

Wendy’s in South Point will donate 15 percent of proceeds between 5 to 8 p.m.on Thursday.

The South Point team has seven members and three placed first in their weight division at the regional meet.

 

 

Free little league umpire

clinic Saturday at CGHS

The District 11 umpire association will conduct a free umpire clinic at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coal Grove High School for anyone ages 14-and-up who would like to be an umpire.

 

 

Fairland district tourney

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Fairland boys’ Div. II district semifinal game will be sold during school hours at the high school.

The girls’ Div. III district finals tickets are also on sale at the high school.

Tickets are $6. Fairland receives only 25 percent of the presale. All money at the gate goes to the OHSAA.

Fairland’s boys play Warren at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Ohio University Convocation Center.

The girls play North Adams at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Waverly’s downtown arena.

 

 

Vikings’ district tourney

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Symmes Valley Division IV district semifinal game will be sold during school hours in the high school.

Tickets are $6. Symmes Valley receives only 25 percent of the presale. All money at the gate goes to the OHSAA.

The Vikings play at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Ohio University’s Convocation Center against the winner of Wednesday’s game between South Webster and Whiteoak.

 

 

SV softball team hosts

annual rummage sale

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings softball team will host their sixth annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the high school gym.

Anyone who would like to make a donation may drop off the items at the school from 4-to-8 p.m. on Friday. If an item needs to be picked up, contact coach Odie Estep at (740) 643-2371 (school) or 643-2021 (home).

 

 

Annual Portsmouth H.S.

coaches’ clinic March 10

The Touchdown Club at Portsmouth High School will host its 16th annual football coaches clinic on Saturday, March 10, at the high school.

Cost is $40 per coach or $150 per staff of 4-to-6, and $200 for staffs of 7-or-more.

Breakfast will be provided along with an all-you-can-eat ribs and wings buffet lunch.

Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and the clinic starts at 8 a.m.

A coaches’ social will be ehld at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at The Welcome Center, 342 Second Street. The social is $6 per coach and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet of wings/pizza/barbecue.

The Holiday Inn is offering a special rate for coaches attending the clinic.

Keynote speaker is Cincinnati Withrow head coach Jim Place.
