Otis Warneke

Otis Lee Waneke, 89, of Beavercreek, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 2, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mertile Warneke; and sister, Hazel Bellew.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edna Warneke; son and daughter in-law, Richard and Vickie Warneke; daughter and son in-law, Victoria and Fred Waldren; four grandchildren, Michelle Waldren, Mindy Waldren, Amy (Curt) Hensley, Sarah Steele; three great-grandchildren, Riley Hensley, Pierce Hensley, Kylie Steele and numerous other relatives and friends.

Otis was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and retired after 40 years as an electrician from G.M. He was a member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church, the VFW 8312, West Carrollton Lodge F&AM and the Antioch Shrine.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at the Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 3151 Annabelle Drive, Kettering, with the Rev. H. C. O’Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel. Danny Thomas

Danny S. Thomas, TSGT USAF, retired of Satellite Beach, Fla., passed away Feb. 29, 2012.

He was born on July 21, 1934, in Ironton, Ohio and moved to Satellite Beach in 1974. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired after 22 years of service. After leaving the Air Force, he began a second career at Harris Corporation in Palm Bay. He was a valued employee for over 20 years, retiring in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Geraldine Lewis and his nephew, Bobby Thomas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary L. Galvin-Thomas of Satellite Beach; his two brothers, John (Charlene) Thomas of Ironton, and Gaylen “Jerry” Thomas of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Sharon Thomas of Orlando, and Cindy Thomas of Satellite Beach, son Ronnie Thomas (Ginger) of Titusville, and two grandchildren, BreAnna and Dallas.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Oceanside Community Church, 305 Cassia Blvd, Satellite Beach. Wanda Stewart, 81, of Grayson, Ky., formerly of Plain City, Ohio, died Sunday March 4, 2012, at Carter Nursing and Rehab Center in Grayson. Robert Roland “Bob” Traylor, 84, of Proctorville, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. He was the husband of Eva Traylor, who survives.
