Simon Soulanille

Simon Andrew Soulanille, 83, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Pasadena, Calif., native was born Sept. 18, 1928, the son of the late Simon and Emma Aimee Philippe Soulanille. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Bell Soulanille.

Mr. Soulanille was a graduate of Alhambra High School and a former tow truck operator in Pasadena. He was a member of the First Tabernacle Church in Ironton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Phillip Soulanille of California; a brother, Roger and Mary Lou Soulanille of California; two stepsons, Jeff and Susan Carmon of Ironton and Daniel Carmon of Huntington, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Connie and Gary Coburn of Ironton; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5455 N. Nancy Webb

Nancy Ruth (Carpenter) Webb, 79, of Ironton, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at Jo-Lin Health Center. The Ironton native was born Dec. 31, 1932, a daughter to the late Charles and Goldie (Click) Carpenter. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Webb, after 56 years of marriage.

Nancy is a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. She was a homemaker who dearly loved taking care of her home and family. Nancy was also a member of Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Nancy is survived by a son, Randy (Pam) Webb of Coal Grove; a daughter, Teri (Jack) Roop of Phenix City, Ala.; two grandsons, Jason (Amanda) King of Ironton and Nathan (Mandy) Webb of Greenup, Ky.; two granddaughters, Kelli Stamper of Columbus and Meghan (Kenny) Salter of Huntington, W.Va.; two great granddaughters, Daly King and Aubrey Webb; three stepgrandsons, Jeremy (Bridget) Roop of Birmingham, Ala.; Shay (Rachel) Roop of Wilmington, N.C. and Colton Hitchcock of Coal Grove; two step great-grandchildren, Maryah and Brooklyn Hitchcock of Coal Grove; and a brother, Leo (Bea) Carpenter of Michigan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kenneth, Nancy is preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Harold Carpenter; and two sisters, Janet Butler and Loretta Markins.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
