Ironton district tourney

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Ironton Div. III district championship game will be sold during school hours in the high school auto tech shop and during business hours at Bob Linn Sporting Goods until 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $6 and will be sold until 3 p.m. on Friday. Ironton receives only 25 percent of the presale. All money at the gate goes to the OHSAA.

Ironton plays Eastern Brown at 7 p.m. Saturday at Ohio University’s Convocation center.

 

 

Ironton Little League

tryouts, registration set

The Ironton Little League will conduct little league baseball and softball tryouts Saturday at the Ironton Middle School.

9 a.m. — boys and girls ages 7-8; 10 a.m. — boys and girls ages 9-10; 11 a.m. — boys and girls ages 11-12.

Anyone who has not registered but is interested in playing may do so at tryouts.

 

 

Panthers district tourney

Tickets for the Chesapeake Panthers’ Div. III district championship game will be sold during school hours at the high school.

Tickets are $6. Chesapeake receives only 25 percent of the presale. All money at the gate goes to the OHSAA.

Chesapeake will play Peebles at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Ohio University Convocation Center.

 

 

Fairland district tourney

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Fairland boys’ Div. II district championship game will be sold during school hours at the high school.

Tickets are $6. Fairland receives only 25 percent of the presale. All money at the gate goes to the OHSAA.

Fairland’s boys play Waverly at 8:15 p.m. Friday, March 9, at the Ohio University Convocation Center.

If the Fairland girls win their Div.III regional semifinal game on Wednesday, regional championship tickets will be sold on Thursday and Friday at the school.

The regional championship game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ohio University Convocation Center.

 

 

GCHS baseball plans

fundraiser March 17

The Greenup County High School baseball team will conduct a wiffle ball home run derby and corn hole tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in the school gym.

Wiffle ball is $10 each (3-man team) and corn hole $10 each (2-man team).

Prizes are $100 for winner of corn hole and t-shirts and name on plaque in concession stand for wiffle ball.

Annual Portsmouth H.S.

coaches’ clinic March 10

The Touchdown Club at Portsmouth High School will host its 16th annual football coaches clinic on Saturday at the high school.

Cost is $40 per coach or $150 per staff of 4-to-6, and $200 for staffs of 7-or-more.

Breakfast will be provided along with an all-you-can-eat ribs and wings buffet lunch.

Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and the clinic starts at 8 a.m.

A coaches’ social will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at The Welcome Center, 342 Second Street. The social is $6 per coach and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet of wings/pizza/barbecue.

The Holiday Inn is offering a special rate for coaches attending the clinic.

Keynote speaker is Cincinnati Withrow head coach Jim Place.
