Mary Skinner
Mary Hacker Skinner, 94, of Ironton, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born Jan. 28, 1918, to the late Frank and Clara Kerber Hacker. She was the wife of the late Howard Otis Skinner. She was a retired information analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense. She was a member of Saint Joseph Church in Ironton. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She was preceded in death by one sister Ositha Martin, and one brother Don Hacker.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Francis Howard and Jane Skinner of Asheboro, N.C.; and stepchildren, William, Levi, and Cheosea Manham. Visitation will be at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home Tuesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. with the Rosary at 9 a.m.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Ironton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph School 912 S. Sixth St., Ironton, OH 45638.
Roger Myers
Roger Scott Myers, 39, of Oak Hill, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his home. He was the husband of Angela Massie Myers. He was born Nov.6, 1972. He was the son of Virginia Myers and the late Robert Myers. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #437. He was a Navy Seabee Veteran. He was a 1991 graduate of Dawson Bryant and LCJS. He was a member of Ice Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Angela and children Aeriel Dawn and Elden LeScott Myers. He is also survived by three brothers Robert (Lisa) Myers of Larue, Mark Myers of Marion and Jason (Elisa) Myers of Oak Hill; three sisters, Melissa (Benny) Butcher of Burlington, Kimberly (Mark) Robinson of Hanging Rock and Gina (Noah) Kirk of Chesapeake; two sisters-in-law, Teresa (James) Christain of Decater and Dreama Massie of Kitts Hill. Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved the Cincinnati Bengals, and he had many nieces and nephews that he loved to spend time with.
Funeral will be today at noon at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with pastor Rock Massie officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. VFW Post 8850 will perform military rites.
Billy Butcher
Billy R. Butcher, 73 of South Point died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Sanctuary of Ohio, Ironton. Arrangements are pending at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point.
James Sherman
James Sherman, 54, of Greenup, Ky., died on Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.carmanfuneral.com.
